THIS YEAR WE WILL OFFER A 6 WEEK SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAM.  ALL STUDENTS WILL REPORT AT 8:00 AM AND STUDY MATH AND READING UNTIL 11:30.  THIS PROGRAM IS NOT A PART OF THE CAMP PROGRAM, BUT A ½ DAY CAMP PROGRAM CAN BE ADDED FOR ONLY $100.00.  SUMMER SCHOOL IS DESIGNED TO HELP STUDENTS RETAIN INFORMATION LEARNED DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR. FOR STUDENTS THAT HAVE LEARNING DIFFICULTIES OR MEMORY DEFICIENCIES, THAT MAY NEED TO START THE YEAR A LITTLE AHEAD SO THEY DON’T FALL BEHIND, WILL BENEFIT GREATLY FROM THIS PROGRAM.

 ONLY 2 ABSENCES ARE ALLOWED IN ORDER FOR THE PROGRAM TO BE REPORTED TO YOUR SCHOOL PRINCIPAL. PARENTS MUST SUPPLY A COPY OF THE MOST CURRENT SCHOOL REPORT CARDS, BEHAVIOR RECORDS AND CURRENT IEP’S IF APPLICABLE.

Week 1- June 2- 6 - PLAY, RELAX, PAINT, RELAX , DRAW , RELAX ....SWIM! THE FIRST WEEK OUT OF SCHOOL SHOULD BE ONE OF PLEASURE AND FUN! WILL WILL PLAY KICKBALL, VOLLEYBALL, TRAMPOLINE PLAY, GYMNASTICS, DOUBLE DUTCH, BOWLING  AND SWIMMING! WE WILL LEARN ALL OF THE RULES, HOW TO KEEP SCORE AND THEN CHART THE SCORES FOR A TOURNAMENT WINNER! IN BETWEEN GAMES WE WILL EXPLORE OUR ARTISTIC SIDES WITH VARIOUS MEDIUMS OF ART. SPECIAL VISITS FROM LOCAL ARTISTS WILL HELP US REFINE OUR ART! (FIELD TRIP TO THE COLUMBUS ART FESTIVAL)

Week 2 - June 9 - 13 Gymnastics & All Star Cheer - POWER GYMNASTICS FOR BOYS AND ALLSTAR GYMNASTICS AND DANCE FOR THE GIRLS. STUNTING AND HUMAN STRUCTURE BUILDING FOR ALL.  CAMPERS THIS WEEK WILL PREPARE FOR AN OUTDOOR GYMNASTICS AND STRUCTURE DEMONSTRATION IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE COLUMBUS PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT (STRUCTURE AND GYMNASTICS DEMO ON JUNE 21-7:30 PM) (FIELD TRIP ICE SKATING!)

Week 3- June 16 - 20   TAKE 1- THEATER WEEK-  WE WILL SPEND THIS WEEK WRITING OUR SCRIPT FOR OUR OWN BROADWAY MUSICAL,WE WILL BUILD AND DESIGN THE SET, DESIGN THE COSTUMES AND PREPARE FOR OUR SHOW NEXT FRIDAY.  CAMPERS WILL NEED TO BRING HAMMERS AND CORDLESS DRILLS IF THEY HAVE THEM! ( AGES 7 AND UP ON THE TOOLS! (FIELD TRIP TO JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION DOWN TOWN COLUMBUS-GENOA PARK)

WEEK 3 - June 16-19 READING CAMP (4 DAY CAMP- 9:00am- 11:30am)  Certified teachers and reading specialists will review reading levels and help to  identify specific reading challenges. Children will be taught skills to combat these difficulties. Specific attention will be put on comprehension and word attack skills to improve speed and accuracy. Pre and Post tests will be given during and after the weeks session. Writing skills will be reviewed and practiced as well. $90.00 for reading camp.  Math camp can be taken later in the summer for an additional $60.00.(if both are taken) a 1/2 day camp price of $100.00 can be added to reading camp and will include lunch and field trips.

Week 4 - June - 23- JUNE 27 TAKE 2: THEATER WEEK - WE WILL SELECT MUSIC, REWORD SONGS, PREPARE PROPS, COSTUMES AND CHOREOGRAPHY TO  FINISH OUR PRODUCTION FOR OUR  PRODUCTION ON FRIDAY. THE SHOW WILL BE AT 4:30!

Week 4 - June 23- 26  Math Camp -  Certified Teachers will help to identify specific challenges in math that affect math success. Special attention will be put on basic functions and math facts . All topics will be age appropriate. (9:00am - 11:30  / 1-7grades only) Pre and post assessments will be done. Math topics will be presented and reviewed in fun and interesting ways to avoid boredom! $90.00 for reading camp.  If reading camp was taken, math camp is only an additional $60.00 otherwise $90.00 separately.(if both are taken) a 1/2 day camp price of $100.00 can be added to reading camp and will include lunch and field trips.
 

  Week 5 - June 30- July 3 (NO CAMP ON THE 4TH) NO BAKE COOKING WEEK IF YOU LOVE GOOD FOOD YOU WILL LOVE THIS WEEK. WE WILL SPEND ALL WEEK COOKING UP OUR OWN FAVORITE DISHES, DESSERTS AND LUNCHES.  SWEETS, MEATS AND FABULOUS TREATS! CAMPERS WILL BRING THEIR BIKES SO THEY CAN BE DECORATED FOR THE BIKE PARADE ON THURSDAY!  THIS WEEK WILL BE FULL OF WATER PLAY AND SUN. WE WILL PITCH TENTS AND ROAST MARSHMALLOWS JUST LIKE WE WERE ON A CAMPING TRIP! (COOK OUT AND PICNIC ON JULY 2 WEATHER PERMITTING)

  WEEK 6 - JULY 7 - JULY 11 - GYMNASTICS,STUNT CAMP AND HIP HOP WEEK!- LEARN NEW ROUTINES FROM INVITED HIP HOP INSTRUCTORS RODGERS AND RIVERS DANCE AND AMERICAN TUMBLING ACADEMY COACHES. WE WILL PUT ALL OF THIS TOGETHER TO MAKE A GREAT MUSIC VIDEO!   ( HOPE YOU CAN SING AND RAP AS WELL!) (A REAL VIDEOTOGRAPHER WILL COME IN FOR THIS ONE! COSTUMES MAY BE NEEDED)(FIELD TRIP WESTERVILLE COMMUNITY CENTER- SWIMMING)

WEEK 7 - JULY 14 - JULY 18

NEW THIS YEAR TRANSPORTATION FROM THE BISHOP HARTLEY TRACK CAMP!

This week long camp is for track and field boys and girls of all skill levels and will focus on track fundamentals and running, block starts, hand offs and field events.  Learn to train as the Hawks and their state renowned track and field program. 
Director: Reggie Osborne ‘76 Grades: 4-12 Dates: July 14-18  9 a.m..-Noon Fee $100.00 (1/2 day rate of 100.00 can be added to this for a full day camp experience. We will pick them up and bring them back to camp!

 Week 7 - July 14 -18 -MADAGASCAR: THIS WEEK WE  WILL TRAVEL TO THE CONTINENT OF AFRICA AND EXPLORE THE ART OF DRUMMING. PROFESSIONAL DRUMMERS WILL BRING THEIR DRUMS AND SHOW US HOW TO KEEP UP WITH THEM!  WE WILL HAVE AN AFRICAN DANCER SHOW US SOME OF THE FINER POINTS OF AFRICAN DANCE, PUT THEM ALL TOGETHER FOR A FABULOUS FRIDAY SHOW! OTHER ACTIVITIES FOR THE WEEK WILL CENTER AROUND THIS THEME. (FIELD TRIP TO THE WILDS!)

Week 8 - July 21 - 25 -OUI OUI PARIS! -ARM CHAIR TRAVEL WITH US TO PARIS AS WE PLAN OUR OWN FASHION WEEK!  CAMPERS WILL BECOME DESIGNERS AND WILL DESIGN BOYS AND GIRLS CLOTHES, ADDED IN WITH SOME OF THEIR OWN WE WILL PREPARE THE IMAGINATION FOR A FULL BLOWN OUT FASHION SHOW.  WE DO A PHOTO SHOOT, HAIR DESIGN( UPON REQUEST) AND AN AMERICAN GIRL DOLL TEA. CAMPERS  WILL LEARN BALLROOM DANCING TO GET READY FOR THE FANCY PARTIES OF FRANCE! WE WILL PRESENT OUR SHOW ON FRIDAY! OF COURSE WE WILL TAKE ONE DAY OUT OF OUR PLANNING TO ATTEND THE OHIO STATE FAIR! (PLEASE SEND SPENDING MONEY!)

Week 9 - July 28 -AUG 1 - Bikes Bikes and more Bikes CAMPERS WILL BRING THEIR BIKES AS WE TRAVEL THE COLUMBUS BIKE PATHS. WE WILL PACK OUR DAY PACKS AND LUNCHES AND RIDE THE PATHS, TRAINING WHEELS, BIG WHEELS, OR BABY SEATS YOU NAME IT WE WILL BE RIDING! PARENTS ARE WELCOME TO JOIN OUR DAY TRIPS! WE WILL STOP TO ENJOY SCENERY, HAVE A SCAVENGER HUNT AND EVEN PLAY A GAME OF BASEBALL!  (WE WILL COVER 2-3 TRAILS DURING THE WEEK), AND CONTINUE OUR IN HOUSE PROJECTS-( LEGO AND CONNECTS GLOW IN THE DARK ROLLER COASTERS) THE OTHER DAYS!(FIELD TRIP HORSEBACK RIDING)

Math topics will be presented and reviewed in fun and interesting ways to avoid boredom! $90.00 for reading camp.  If reading camp was taken, math camp is only an additional $60.00 otherwise $90.00 separately.(if both are taken) a 1/2 day camp price of $100.00 can be added to reading camp and will include lunch and field trips.

Week 10 - Aug 4 - Aug 8 KRAZY CRANIUM FINALS  WE WILL RACK OUR BRAINS WITH THE ANSWERS TO THE WORLDS MOST BRILLIANT QUESTIONS. WE WILL HAVE DONE THIS ALL SUMMER SO THIS WILL BE THE CHAMPIONSHIP!  MATH, SCIENCE, SOCIAL STUDIES, LANGUAGE ARTS. ALL WILL BE PUT TOGETHER FOR THE TEAMS TO REACH THEIR HIGHEST GOALS., " THE TOP OF THE CRANIUM!" WATCH ON FRIDAY AS EACH TEAM TRIES TO STUMP THE OTHER TEAM WITH THEIR QUESTIONS.  (FIELD TRIP WESTERVILLE COMMUNITY CENTER- SWIMMING)

Week 11 - Aug 11 - Aug 15 - ZOOLOGY!   WE WILL LEARN ABOUT THEM, PAINT THEM, ACT LIKE THEM, AND GO VISIT THEM, AT THE COLUMBUS ZOO OF COURSE!  ALL TYPES OF ART MEDIUMS, PAPER MACHE, WIRE YOU NAME IT WE WILL USE IT TO BUILD OUR ZOO ANIMALS.  BRING YOUR FAVORITE STUFFED ANIMAL, BIG OR SMALL TO CAMP THIS WEEK!!   THIS WEEK WILL BE HELD IN MEXICO SO ALL OF US WILL HABLAMOS ESPANOL! DURING OUR SIESTAS WE WILL CELEBRATE WITH A BACK TO SCHOOL PARTY WITH PINATAS AND MEXICAN GAMES! (FIELD TRIP TO THE COLUMBUS ZOO)
